County Lead Volunteer

Hello everyone,

I’m thrilled to be introducing our new County Leadership Team to you all.

Firstly, I would like to thank those volunteers that have worked with us over the last 18 months to see the county through the transition period and beyond!

Whilst I’ve been in my role for 18 months now, I didn’t think it was fair to embarrass the leadership team without joining in myself. My scouting journey started many years ago in Rainford after moving through the sections and on to Explorers at Windle Wombles. I returned to Rainford as a Scout leader once I’d turned 18. Whist at university I moved to an Explorer Scout Unit as a leader and then returned to St Helens and continued in Explorers at my previous explorer unit. After this I joined the district board of trustees, took on the role of DESC and then DC for St Helens.

I have a passion for community cohesion and working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and underrepresented communities. In addition to this I enjoy offering international adventure to young people. I have been too far-flung places such as Thailand, Morocco, and all over Europe with scouts. However, I’ve always had an ambition to take scouts to India but never quite got round to it yet!

I look forward to continuing to support you all in your roles and developing and growing our county together over the coming years!
