Young People Events

Throughout the year, we run lots of events and activities for young people. Available here is information on some of the larger events and activities which are normally held either annually or bi-annually.

As details are confirmed about the next of each of these events, we’ll share links to more information.

Beavan Challenge

Sections: Scouts and Explorer Scouts.
Next due to take place: Friday 7th to Sunday 9th October 2022.

For over 30 years the Challenge has represented an annual opportunity for Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Guides, Ranger Guides and their supporters to join together in sporting competition and meet for a thoroughly enjoyable weekend.

Venue: Tawd Vale Adventure Centre.

Celebrating Success

Sections: All Sections.
Next due to take place: Expected to take place on either Saturday 26th February 2022 or Saturday 5th March 2022.

Each year, we celebrate the achievements of young people from across Merseyside Scouts who have achieved the Top Award in their Section.

MerseyMoot

Sections: Explorer Scouts and Scout Network.
Next due to take place: Friday 9th to Sunday 11th September 2022.

The Mersey Moot is held annually for some 1000+ Explorer Scouts, Ranger Guides, Young Leaders and Network members.

Venue: Tawd Vale Adventure Centre.

Night at the Museum

Sections: Beaver Scouts and Cub Scouts.
Next due to take place: Expected to take place on either Saturday 19th or Saturday 26th November 2022.

This event alternates between Beaver Scouts and Cub Scouts. In 2020, this is an exciting opportunity for Beavers to explore the World Museum Liverpool, undertaking a range of activities and finishing off with a sleepover. The activities will support aspects of the Beaver programme and more information will be provided nearer the time.

The Great Escape

Sections: Scouts
Next due to take place: Friday 8th to Sunday 10th April 2022.

This annual event is for members of Merseyside’s Scout Section, aged primarily between 10 1/2 and 14. Young people take part in a wide range of challenges, in their Patrols.

Venue: Tawd Vale Adventure Centre.

Wingding

Sections: Squirrels (tbc), Beaver Scouts and Cub Scouts.
Next due to take place: Friday 17th to Sunday 19th June 2022.

Wingding is a large event for Beaver Scouts and Cub Scouts from across Merseyside. We also plan to make this event accessible to Squirrels. It takes place every two years and provides an exciting weekend of adventure centred around the following activity zones: Adventure, Creative, Fun, Water, Bush craft, Global and Arena events.
