Welcome...

Welcome to the Explorer Scout web pages for Merseyside County Scouts. Explorer Scouting in Merseyside is a vibrant, exciting and fast growing section with a growth of 6% last year alone. My thanks to all Commissioners, Leaders and supporters for all the hard work that is being put in to deliver quality Explorer Scouting. It is a section you will want to be involved in.

These pages will give you news, support and programme ideas of what is happening in Explorer Scouting in Merseyside. In 2006 we have held the County Mersey 100 Competition, support events for Explorer Units and Young Leader Units, the Mersey Moot, an Explorer Belt Expedition to Canada, preparation for the World Scout Jamboree in 2007 and a County Wide Development Day. In 2007 we look forward to X-Fest, the Explorer Centenary Celebration Event on the 7th July, Young Leader Training Days and much more.

We also have an area for the Units within Merseyside to tell you what activities and events they participate in. There is also a programme ideas resource which I would encourage Units to contribute to and take ideas from.

Enjoy Explorer Scouting

Take a look around!

Explorer Scouting is scouting for all Young People in Merseyside aged 14-18 and at present is the fastest growing Youth Section in Merseyside. As the section continues to develop so does the quality of the activities and opportunities available to the Explorer Scouts.

The County Forum continues to develop and contribute valuable ideas resulting in events such as TONC, Merseyside 100 Competition and as the basis for ideas for future events within the County. Please ensure that your District has a voice at the Forum.

Events such as the Bala Canoe Weekend, Mersey Moot and Explorer Belt Expeditions continue to be popular with Explorer Scouts and continue to develop to meet the needs of the Explorer Scouts. Thank you to those teams of people who organise and deliver these Events.

The web site is set out within the following headings, please take a look at:
