Now in its tenth year the event is based upon an In-depth hands-on practical course structured around bases such as: fire-making, greenwood skills, leather work, use of tools, cooking with Dutch ovens and wood fires plus a few impromptu ones, with no theory elements.
All adult leaders are welcome from every section, and it is an opportunity to learn new skills, refresh old ones or hone existing ones. Although not a required Scouting Training Module, a certificate of attendance is awarded plus various other awards.
This is an opportunity to meet and share with fellow leaders and learn from those with a vast array of experience and skills – both traditional scouting and bushcraft. There is a programme of activities/bases, but you are free to roam day and night to pursue your interests.
You will be attending as a member of a group camp, contributing to and sharing all aspects of the camp’s upkeep. All equipment for the bases is supplied excluding personal sleeping tents and sleeping kit. You may bring your own axes, knives & saws – even if blunt.
