We’re delighted to have welcomed Jo Green to our team, this month. Jo joins us as our Growth and Development Officer and will be supporting us with continuing to extend our reach over the coming years.

Our work will focus on strengthening existing Sections, Units and Groups, as well as new provision in new communities.

Jo writes:

“Hi everyone, I’m Jo the new Growth and Development Officer for Merseyside. I’ve heard lots of great things about Team Merseyside and am really excited to be part of the team. Prior to joining The Scouts I served for 20 years as a Police Officer in both Greater Manchester and Cheshire Police, During my service I have held roles including Volunteer Police Cadet Scheme Coordinator, Community and Neighbourhood Policing and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. I love the outdoors and have been a volunteer with the DofE North of England Team for about 6 years. I’m really looking forward to meeting you all and being part of the fantastic work that’s going on around the County.”

Peter Oliver, County Commissioner, writes:

“We’re delighted to be able to restart our targeted support for strengthening our provision. We’ve achieved so much through the challenges of the last couple of years and are bouncing back quickly to a level of normality, thanks to everyone’s hard work – but we know that young people and our communities need what we offer now more than ever. Supporting existing Section Teams, and building new Section Teams to ensure as many young people as possible across Merseyside can benefit from the skills for life we deliver is a priority for us, and we’re investing significantly in this support. Jo brings a wealth of experience, and we’re looking forward to working with Jo to support our members.”

If you’re an existing volunteer and need recruitment support, you can find out more here – and please make sure your District Commissioner is aware if you’d like support from our Growth Project.

Welcome to the team, Jo.
Jo Green, Growth and Development Officer
