Outline:
Provide inspirational support and leadership to the Section Leadership Teams by encouraging, supporting and developing Adventurous Activity provision to support young people to access a fun, enjoyable, high quality programme, which offers amazing experiences and supports them with developing skills for life.

Appointment Requirements:
- A Wood Badge for the role must be completed within three years of Full Appointment, and ongoing safeguarding and safety training
- Willingness to become a Member of The Scout Association, if not already
- Successful Enhanced DBS vetting checks
Key Accountabilities:
- Co-ordinate and support the County Activities Team
- Provide information and advise Leaders and Commissioners on Activities and The Association’s Activities Rules
- Monitor and moderate the work of the County Adventurous Activity Assessors
- To act, as appropriate, where no adviser exists
- Innovate and promote new activities within the County
- Ensure awareness of new Activity rules and adherence to them, including interpreting and communicating updates to rules
- Advise members on issues relating to insurance and notification for certain activities
- Maintain update information on Activity initiatives and circulate them widely
- Encourage the empowerment of young people in activities
- Represent views of your County to National Activities Team and promote national Activities Events
- Support and advise DCs with all matters relating to the Adventurous Activities
- Develop opportunities, activities and resources that support the delivery of ‘hard to deliver’ areas of the Scout programme
- Develop and deliver County events and activities which positively supplement the programme
- Work with the County Training Team to support the development and delivery of programme training to new leaders
- Attend and contribute to relevant County and District meetings as required
Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience:
- Experience of supporting Adventurous Actvities
- Experience of supporting adults and helping them to develop their skills
- Good understanding of The Scout Association’s Explorer Scout Programme and the Policy, Organisation and Rules that relate to the section
