A show in
a day!
Have you ever taken part in a stage
show?
Have you ever sat through endless rehearsals waiting for
the big night?
Well the Scouts and Guides of St.
Helens do things differently by putting on a Show in a
Day.
25 Scouts and Guides both young and old, who are all cast
members of the St. Helens and District Scout and Guide
Gang Show which takes place every year at the Theatre
Royal, left St. Helens on the 9th October at 7:30 AM to
travel to Todmorden in Yorkshire where they joined forces
with fellow Scouts and Guides from across the North West
including members from Sale, Spen Valley, Todmorden, Marple
and Wyre gang shows.
We registered at 9AM and were given scripts ready for
rehearsals during the day we worked together to put on
a show (warts and all) in a day. Including costuming,
rehearsing, designing lighting and most importantly putting
on the show at 7:30PM.
Every one of the cast that went
from St. Helens thoroughly enjoyed the show and got a
lot out of it including making new friends, learning new
skills and having a lot of fun. This year’s show
in a day was made even more special by the fact that for
the first time ever St. Helens Gang Show organised the
event and allowed over 100 people to take part in this
unique experience, who knows maybe next year we may be
at the Theatre Royal with our show in a day. We would
like to thanks Rachel Dixon for supporting us on the day
as Musical Director.
