We are always looking for new volunteers to take on leadership and support roles within Team Merseyside and welcome expressions of interest from anyone willing and able to get involved in our work. This area of the site advertises specific roles that are currently available within Team Merseyside. Assistant County Commissioner for Explorer Scouts

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about ensuring our 14 - 18 year olds are offered amazing opportunities and develop skills for life. We are looking for a new Assistant County Commissioner (Explorer Scouts) to join the Programme Team and we would encourage you to consider the role yourself or nominate someone you know.

Young Leader Training Manager

We have a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about ensuring Merseyside's 300+ Young Leaders have the chance to access high quality training to help them deliver everyday adventure and skills for life to over 8000 young people every week of the year. You'll use your energy and creativity to:

  • develop and deliver the County Young Leader training provision
  • enable our young people to complete the Missions and achieve the Young Leader Belt Buckle
  • provide advice and support to our District ESL (Young Leader) and their teams
  • work with the wider Programme team to deliver on events to celebrate the achievements of young people across the County

Assistant County Commissioner for Growth

Every year we help over 8000 young people in Merseyside enjoy new adventures, however many more young people are still waiting for their chance to experience Scouting, and we want to help make this happen. Why? Because we all know that Scouting is a huge life changing adventure for all involved.
 
Are you a great motivator? Are you able to inspire people about some of the great opportunities to offer more Scouting in Merseyside? It's not about doing it all yourself - it's about empowering people to feel confident about what they can do to offer to more young people and sharing the tools, resources, best practice and the opportunities that already exist.
 
So, what will you be doing?

  • You will be using your amazing people skills to motivate, support and empower Districts to be able to offer more Scouting to more young people
  • You will be chairing our Growth Group to support the fantastic projects that are happening across the County .
  • You will be helping to identify and develop opportunities where we can make the adventure possible for more young people.

There is loads of scope to make this role your own, build a team and even create your own title so why not jump in, pop in a nomination for yourself or if you know someone who would be brilliant in the role then do encourage them to apply too.

Are you a good organiser? Do you have a great eye for detail and enjoy planning? If so, we could use your talents to help shape the way we communicate.

PR and Communications Coordinator

Are you passionate about Scouting? Do you get a buzz out of spreading good news? Then we would love to use your skills to coordinate media relations and promote our successes and campaigns locally.

Social Media Coordinator

Do you know your Twitter from your Tumblr? Can you manage a digital community? Then we would love to use your skills to manage our social media channels.

Website Coordinator

Are you a digital whizz? Then we would love to use your digital skills to provide an inspiring online presence for #TeamMerseyside.

Local Training Managers:

Three seperate roles to cover Liverpool North and Liverpool South Districts; and County-wide 'Manager and Supporter' training

Every year we help over 8,000 young people in Merseyside enjoy new adventures; to experience the outdoors, interact with others, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Working alongside our youth members are over 2,000 adult volunteers, in a huge variety of roles leading our youth sections or supporting those that do.

We have a great opportunity to join the Adult Support team to help our adult volunteers to develop their skills and experience so that they in turn can deliver a brilliant programme of activities for our young people.

The role will involve:

  • Recruiting and managing Training Advisors.
  • Ensuring that all adult training records are accurate and up to date.
  • Working with the County Training Manager and wider Adult Support team to plan and manage the delivery of learning opportunities in their area of responsibility.
  • Play a key role in the development of training opportunities across Team Merseyside
