Current Volunteer Vacancies

We are always looking for new volunteers to take on leadership and support roles within Team Merseyside and welcome expressions of interest from anyone willing and able to get involved in our work. This area of the site advertises specific roles that are currently available within Team Merseyside. You can nominate yourself, or someone else, please download the nomination form, available on the right hand side of this page. If you'd like to chat about a role, then we'd love you to get in touch. Each role will normally have contact information of the most appropriate member of the team to contact.

County Youth Commissioner

Are you aged between 18 and 25? Would you like to be our lead young person across the County? We're looking for someone to take the lead in the engagement of young people across Team Merseyside. We have over 8000 young people activley engaged in Scouting across Merseyside and there's a great opportunity to ensure that all young people have the chance to shape what we do. Working closely with the County Commissioner, Deputy County Commissioners and others in leadership and support roles across Team Merseyside, our Youth Commissioner will also be a key member of the leadership of Merseyside Scouts; with the opportunity to influence a wide range of what we do.

Deputy County Commissioner for Programme

We're looking for someone with a passion for our life changing programme, across any of our sections, to take the lead on how we support other volunteers to deliver quality programmes to our young people. The Deputy County Commissioner for Programme will lead Team Merseyside's Programme Team and will also be a key member of the leadership of Merseyside Scouts; with the opportunity to influence a wide range of what we do.

Digital Communications & Media Co-Ordinator

We're looking for a volunteer to lead and develop our Digital Communications and Media team. Some of the key areas of work of our media team are:

  • Developing our communications internally and externally
  • Developing and managing our digital presence, including our website and social media 
  • Developing contacts with media contacts
  • Generating appropriate content for publishing via media contacts
It's a great opportunity to make a real difference across Team Merseyside and you'll have the opportunity to work with our existing team members, build a plan, gain support for the plan and help take #Scouting4All to even more young people across Merseyside.

Membership Data & Engagement Support Manager

Engagement of our membership is key for a wide range of reasons and we now have access to more data that supports how we go about this and that enables improved engagement. Our Membership Data and Engagement Support Manager role is designed to support us in the most appropriate use of this data including identifying membership trends in different areas in terms of newly recruited adults and the retention of established adults, changes in roles and identifying opportunities to improve the retention of adults.

It's a great opportunity to help us improve how we engage with everyone in #TeamMerseyside.

County Secretary 

We're looking to identify our next County Secretary who wil be appointed at the County Conference and AGM in September 2017. Our County Secretary will have the opportunity to play a key role in the governance of Merseyside County Scout Council, which is a registered charity. The County Secretary will work with the County Commissioner, County Chair and members of the County Executive Committee (Trustees) to support the sound governance and administration of the charity, in support of the work of the County Commissioner and their team.
