About The County
Website
The
County Website is designed and maintained by Liam O'Malley of
arTech Web Design.
Hello,
Welcome to the Merseyside Scout County Website, My name is Liam
O'Malley and I am the Website Manager for the Merseyside County
Sites. The county site was initially set up by the Internet Troubleshooter
and I took over during the summer of 2002. We decided the site
needed a complete overhall and a new look. This new site was launched
in September 2002 and has continued to grow ever since.
We decided that the new
website would need to meet certain aims which we set forward in
2002. These were, to create a site that would be informative for
those outside of the movement. But more importantly, to be a usefull
resource for our own members. This would need to include, an up
to date diary, downloadable event booking and information sheets,
sectional information, and a place to advertise the events the county
is envolved in. With these aims in mind I hope that I have created
a site that both meets and surpasses these requirements.
I hope that you will
have noticed the new sections and updates we have completed over
the last few months. In line with the new program we have recently
added a Nights Away section and an updated Training Section. We
are pleased that as time goes by this site is gradually improving
and has now become a valuable county resource.
I joined scouting as
a Beaver at 1st Great Meols in West Wirral, and moved through Cubs
before joining the 2nd West Kirby Sea Scouts. Here I stayed and
as my age group moved up into Venture Scouting we Created a new
local area unit called The Phantom VSU where I stayed until 2002.
I am now Scout Leader for 2nd West Kirby Sea Scouts.
We want to make sure
that the site is constantly kept up to date and therefore if you
have any ideas or suggestions about how the site could grow or
improve please e-mail
them to me and I will see what I can do.
Yours In Scouting
Liam O'Malley,
County Webmaster.
