There are few more enchanting areas of the world than the Himalayas – and this expedition will allow you to enjoy an unforgettable experience among the country’s famous peaks and sights. Our expedition balances out the awe and majesty of trekking at the roof of the world, thoughtful cultural discovery and charity work with young people in an educational setting. Nepal is a world of discovery.

Covering most of Nepal and translating as “abode of snow”, the Himalaya contains more than 250 peaks. Perhaps the most famous of all - not just in Nepal but around the world - is Mount Everest but less than 200 miles south is the jungles of Chitwan and other National Parks. However, Nepal has a lot more to offer than just the mountains. It has some of the best architecture in Asia and has one of the most diverse cultures in the world.

Poon Hill Trek will give us a real flavour of Nepal, whilst still giving us the breath-taking views. The Himalayan vistas on Poon Hill Trek certainly pack a punch, especially when we climb Poon Hill as the sun rises over these beautiful mountains. The route starts and finishes in Nayapul, looping around Ghorepani and Ghandruk offering the crisp serenity of this high alpine area and a peek into traditional Nepali lifestyle.

We stay in friendly tea houses, tackle a challenging climb of 3300 steps up to Ulleri and follow the River Bhurungdi east past lowland rice fields and thick jungles where you will see monkeys playing and many species of birds resting in the trees.

Annapurna South, Barasikha, Nilgiri, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchru (also known as Fishtail mountain), the Dhaulagiri mountain range and Tukuche Peak are all on show on this short trek to Poon Hill into this beautiful region, along with the chance to get to know the Nepali people and taste the local delicacies.

The experiences on this route will provide us with happy memories and stories to tell for years to come, a truly unforgettable trek into the heart of the Annapurnas.
